Harney County Arts in Education Foundation, a non-profit organization,
founded to promote, maintain, enhance, enrich and improve the
for growth and achievement in the areas of music education,
arts, visual arts and theater arts for the schools and
in Harney County.
For this purpose, the foundation will continue to provide
much needed support to music and arts programs in the school districts and
communities in Harney County.
The arts have been a vital and unifying part of our
community for over 100 years. The continued state budget constraints which
results in a lack of school funding directly affect the quality of our
Students in Harney County deserve the opportunity to
expand their horizons from the exposure, appreciation and performance of music
and the visual arts.
The HCAEF has
expanded this vision to include a Performing Arts & Education Center for
our schools and communities to improve the opportunities for growth and
achievement in the arts

Harney County is located in the beautiful High Desert of Eastern Oregon. At 10,135 square miles, it is the largest county in Oregon and the 9th largest county in the United States. Though larger than many eastern states, Harney County is sparsely populated with just 6888 people -- roughly 4500 of which reside in the adjoining communities of Burns and Hines.
